Our Philosophy
We like to think we have a carefully thought out philosophy on how Audits should be done and how we can help you do Audits.

Audits are for everyone. When you install our tool every user will be allowed to do an audit of his or her own data. No Administrator knows a user’s data as well as a user, therefore it is important that users themselves are taught to be vigilant and given the tools to protect their own data. This is especially true in large organizations.

Audits are for reporting. Our tool helps you identify risks to your data and to your organization. We do not allow administrators to change permissions or ownerships from our tool. Changes of permissions and ownership can now be done from the Google Apps ‘Manage this Domain panel’ where it is carefully logged by Google. We allow you see clearly if there are risks and we allow you to easily notify users of what you might see as a danger.

We never store your data. We have developed our code carefully to avoid ever keeping a copy of your reports. All reports can be opened in PDF or Spreadsheet form only after being stored in your own Google Apps account. We write to your files straight from memory.

We keep no Audit information between sessions. The only information we gather on our users are their email address, the time they first logged in, the time they last logged in and the type and number of reports they ran. This is all available to Domain Admins in the GAT Usage tool report at the top of your screen. We feel this is the minimum we have to keep for safety reasons. It is also the maximum information we keep.

Reports should be simple and informative. Our reports are simple to read, easy to store, and allow you to see detail by clicking on icons or links within the report.

Audits should be secure. We use HTTPS for all our sessions. We are TRUSTe certified. We never see your password.

Our software runs on the Amazon cloud, it uses encrypted calls to access your Domain APIs on Google. This is the exact same mechanism as Google use for software running on the Google Apps Engine.

Well even though we have thousands of Domains who use our tool and we have the widest number of audits, the fastest real time audits and the clearest, deepest audit reports, we’re still not there yet! We have so much more we can and want to do, we want you to use our tool and give us your feedback. Unlike some of our competitors we developed our own Audit tool, so we have no commercial pressure to start charging you for it until we think it is ready.
